November Re-cap: A trip to Bruges

What’s been happening this month?

I popped down to Brighton for a couple of days for a conference. Sadly I didn’t get much time for sightseeing as the conference started quite early and it was dark outside by the time it finished! We went to Franco Manca for dinner which was just around the corner from my hotel. The pizzas were excellent so I’ll definitely have to make more of an effort to visit one of their London restaurants.

We went for a ride up to Audley End House but I made the mistake of failing to read their website properly and didn’t realise the house was actually closed for the winter. We were still able to roam around the gardens though, which look quite pretty in autumn.

Audley End House in full view, so pretty! 😍

We also travelled to Bruges for a weekend via motorcycle. It was my first time travelling via the Euro tunnel which was exciting but our journey on the bike was slightly traumatic – getting soaked in the pouring rain on the way there and getting caught up in crazy winds as a result of Storm Angus on the way back. Needless to say I’m in no rush to repeat that experience anytime soon but Bruges was lovely and we had nice weather while exploring the town. I think I’ll be sticking with the Eurostar next time!

I love the traditional houses with stepped roofs!

Looking ahead to December

I’ve got two weekend trips planned to visit some Christmas markets – Luxembourg and Hamburg.
I’ve been to Luxembourg before but this will be my first time visiting Hamburg so if you have tips on things to do besides the Christmas market please let me know.
