October Re-cap – Staycationing

What’s been happening this month?

I watched my first ever live rugby game at Twickenham where the Wallabies took on Argentina, and won! We turned the weekend into a little staycation and booked ourselves a room at the Hilton Syon Park. We enjoyed our previous stay at this hotel and it was nice to go back, it feels like you’re staying in the countryside.

I also managed to squeeze in a visit to Marble Hill House which is only a short drive from the hotel. We didn’t get a chance to visit last time so I was determined to see it this month before it closed for winter.

We also made a last minute booking to stay at Luton Hoo for a weekend. Staycations were a popular choice this month as I had to get my passport renewed and didn’t want to make any firm travel plans until I got my new one. We had such a relaxing stay at Luton Hoo, taking full advantage of the spa and enjoying afternoon tea. We were both so impressed with this hotel, we definitely want to come back again.

So excited to be staying here tonight! 😁 @lutonhoohotel

Looking ahead to November

I’m heading down to Brighton for a couple of days for a conference. There’s probably not going to be much time for sightseeing but it’ll be nice to get out of London for a little bit. Now that I have my shiny new passport we’ve also booked a weekend trip to Bruges where I plan on eating my weight in chocolate. If you have any tips for things to do in Bruges please let me know in the comments below.

I hope you had a wonderful October! Where is November taking you?

Isn’t Luton Hoo lovely Stacey! We live about 35 mins away from the hotel and I work just around the corner from it. We thought their afternoon tea was lovely for the cost and the spa is lovely. Was Woburn Abbey still open for a visit? xx

I loved it there! We really liked the afternoon tea as well, we only decided to try it once we arrived at the hotel and thankfully they still had availability on short notice (would never happen in London on a Sunday!). Unfortunately Woburn Abbey isn’t open now so we couldn’t visit, I’m putting it on my list for next year xx
