What’s been happening this month?
The big highlight for April was my trip to Sydney. One of my friends was getting married so I flew back for the wedding but I kept it a secret from my parents - only my sister and brothers knew I was coming back. It was pretty difficult to keep it a secret but my mum’s reaction when I walked through the door was priceless and made it all worthwhile.
We flew business class to Sydney with Qatar Airways so if you want to see what that was like you can check out my latest post.
While I was in town I managed to squeeze in an afternoon trip to the Blue Mountains National Park.
And I also made sure to visit the newly opened Tella Balls Dessert Bar. This Nutella-themed cafe was founded by the same people as Food Craft Espresso who created those famous Tella Ball Shakes.
After returning to the UK we visited Battle Abbey and the field where the 1066 Battle of Hastings took place.
And we rode out to Box Hill to check out this beautiful view point.
Looking ahead to May
I’ll be doing yet another Hidden London tour but this time it will be above ground at 55 Broadway, London Underground’s former headquarters. Hopefully it will be a nice day as there are some rather nice views from the top of this building. If you’re interested in booking a Hidden London tour there are still tickets available for the Down Street and Clapham South Subterranean Shelter tours. At £75 a ticket I feel that the Down Street tour is overpriced but I did the much more affordable Clapham South tour last year and found it really interesting.
I’ve also booked a weekend trip to Bergen, Norway cause I needed another eligible BA flight to qualify for Bronze membership. If you have been before and have any recommendations please let me know in the comments!
I hope you had a great April! Do you have any exciting plans for May?
