April Re-cap: Roadtripping around the UK

I’ve been a little slack with these monthly updates and haven’t done one since January. But April has been an exciting month so its the perfect time for me to get back into doing these updates.

What’s been happening this month?

I visited the National Trust’s Knole, an English country house situated within a 1,000-acre deer park. It’s an easy day trip from London so definitely worth checking out if you’re a National Trust member.

We had a day in London which actually felt like proper spring weather so I took the opportunity to visit Kyoto Garden. I picked the wrong time of day though as it was quite busy and the sunlight was too harsh for taking good photos. I recommend going early to get a more tranquil feel with less people around.

Over the Easter long weekend we packed up and set out on a road trip around the UK for two weeks. We headed to Cardiff first, then north to Snowdonia before travelling up to Scotland then back to England passing through Northumberland, Yorkshire and then returning to London. We had to cut the journey a little short as snow was predicted in Scotland and we didn’t want to get stranded there, although we still got the tail end of the bad weather with a bit of snow and hail in Northumberland. I’m back at home now but I’ve still got loads of photos to share from my trip on Instagram and of course I’ll be blogging about my favourite stops here so stay tuned.

Looking ahead to May

I’ve not got any solid plans for May yet. I’ll probably work in a few day trips on weekends if the weather is good and we may still book something for the bank holiday weekend at the end of May. We’re thinking about taking the Eurotunnel to the north of France or a weekend in the UK somewhere not too far from home.

I hope you had a fantastic April! What are your plans for May?
