What’s been happening this month? Early in September London hosted a series of events to mark 350 years since the Great Fire of London. I went to see the fire projections on the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral… View this post on Instagram The dome of St Paul's Cathedral lit up with flame projections as part of #greatfire350, commemorating 350 years since the Great Fire of London 🔥🔥 #londonsburning #greatfireoflondon..

August Re-Cap: Being a London tourist

What’s been happening this month? I had a few days off work while my parents were staying with me so we got up to lots of touristy things. I wanted to take them to the Sky Garden but I waited too long to book tickets and all the time slots sold out. To get around this, I booked us in for breakfast at one of the Sky Garden’s restaurants instead - Darwin Brasserie...

What’s been happening this month? July has been an action-packed month, and a mixed bag of highs and lows. Early in the month my Nan sadly passed away. Although she’d had some health problems for a while it did come as a bit of a shock as she had seemed to be on the mend. View this post on Instagram Wish I was at home today to say goodbye to my Nan who passed away last weekend 😔❤️..

image from June Re-Cap: Geneva, Cornwall and visitors from Australia!

What’s been happening this month? June has definitely been the busiest month of the year so far! The first weekend of the month started with a day trip to Upnor Castle and Whitstable. I was a little disappointed with Whitstable to be honest, not sure if I just missed the best parts but I didn’t enjoy it as much as some of the other seaside towns I’ve visited in the UK...

What’s been happening this month? The month started out with a bank holiday so we went for a little day trip in Kent where we visited Scotney Castle and Bayham Old Abbey. I did a tour of 55 Broadway, London’s first skyscraper and London Underground’s former headquarters. My main reason for wanting to do this tour was just so that I could see this view for myself...

What’s been happening this month? The big highlight for April was my trip to Sydney. One of my friends was getting married so I flew back for the wedding but I kept it a secret from my parents - only my sister and brothers knew I was coming back. It was pretty difficult to keep it a secret but my mum’s reaction when I walked through the door was priceless and made it all worthwhile...

What’s been happening this month? The month started off well with a sunny visit to Hughenden Manor in Buckinghamshire. However, on the way home from our day out I had a bit of an accident on my scooter :( She’s still with the insurer for repairs which means my plans to escape London on the weekends have been thwarted somewhat however I did still manage to hop on the back of my boyfriend’s motorcycle and visit Penshurst Place and Gardens in Kent...

So this monthly re-cap is a little late… the second half of February ended up being pretty busy so I’ve fallen behind with blogging but hopefully I’ll be able to get back into the swing of things over the next couple of weeks. What’s been happening this month? While doing some research on TripAdvisor a few weeks ago I stumbled across the page for Spencer House, an eighteenth-century aristocratic palace at Green Park...

Monthly Re-cap: January 2016

I’ve never written one of these monthly summary posts before but I enjoy reading them on other blogs, plus I figured it would allow me to document some of the things I get up to that I maybe wouldn’t dedicate an entire blog post to. Let’s see if I can keep these going throughout the year… What’s been happening this month? I finally got around to seeing the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History museum, with 50% off the price of admission thanks to my ArtPass...

Things have been a bit quiet on the blog this month. Work has been crazy busy and I’ve just returned from a ski trip in Austria, but I thought I’d get back into the swing of things by wrapping up all the highlights from 2015. I try to write one of these posts every year as I really enjoy looking back on the things I’ve done. Biggest personal achievements On the first day of January 2015, I skied my first ever black run!..
