February Re-Cap: A birthday trip and fun in London

So this monthly re-cap is a little late… the second half of February ended up being pretty busy so I’ve fallen behind with blogging but hopefully I’ll be able to get back into the swing of things over the next couple of weeks.

What’s been happening this month?

While doing some research on TripAdvisor a few weeks ago I stumbled across the page for Spencer House, an eighteenth-century aristocratic palace at Green Park. Unfortunately it’s closed all throughout January so as soon as February rolled around I made sure to pop by for a tour. As with most of these types of buildings, no photography was allowed inside, but the interior is stunning. I’m so glad I went and would highly recommend it. Guided tours run at regular intervals on Sundays from 10.30am – 4.30pm, first come first served.

After making the booking last September, I finally got to do the Aldwych Underground tour! It was definitely worth the wait though, I now understand why this tour is so popular.

My boyfriend and I went to see Deadpool but since it was my birthday weekend I didn’t just want to go to any old cinema. I’d seen a couple of bloggers post about the Curzon cinema inside the Mondrian hotel and it looked pretty fancy so we decided to give it a try. The tickets were surprisingly cheap and the lounges in the cinema were comfy, I’d definitely go back again!

We had originally planned to go to Dover that weekend but the weather was utterly miserable so we decided to postpone our trip. Thankfully in the evening of my birthday the weather had cleared so we visited the Magical Lantern Festival at Chiswick Park. I’m so glad I didn’t miss this event, I was so impressed by all the displays - they even had kangaroos!

I enjoyed eating this fabulous birthday cake from Anges de Surcre.

And we spent the last week of February skiing in Courchevel, France. I’ll be blogging more about this trip soon!

Looking ahead to March

I’m ridiculously excited about seeing Adele at The o2 in a couple of weeks. I’ve also got another Hidden London tour coming up at the end of the month, this time of Charing Cross station.

I hope you had a great February! Do you have any exciting plans for March?
