What’s been happening this month?
The month started out with a bank holiday so we went for a little day trip in Kent where we visited Scotney Castle and Bayham Old Abbey.
I did a tour of 55 Broadway, London’s first skyscraper and London Underground’s former headquarters. My main reason for wanting to do this tour was just so that I could see this view for myself.
I tried my hand at indoor rock climbing, bouldering and abseiling. We did a taster session at Castle Climbing Centre in Stoke Newington and it was a lot of fun, although the abseiling was mildly terrifying. Surprisingly, climbing actually gives you a really good ab workout. I had sore stomach muscles for a few days!
My favourite thing this month was our trip to Norway. We went to Bergen for a weekend and managed to squeeze in a day trip to see some fjords.
Last weekend we visited the newly opened Swingers Crazy Golf Club, an indoor mini golf centre with two nine-hole courses, street food stalls and five bars! I was soundly beaten but it was still a lot of fun.
Looking ahead to June
June is set to be a really busy month. To start off, I’ll be doing a Hidden London tour of the lost tunnels of Euston station. This a brand new tour so I don’t know much about it but I’ve loved their previous tours and I’m sure this one will be just as good.
I’m chasing a Silver Executive Club membership with British Airways so I’m off to Geneva for a weekend to pick up the eligible flights I need to qualify. I really want to visit Chillon Castle but if you have any other recommendations for things to do in Geneva please let me know!
My sister will be coming over to visit from Australia. We have a 6 day roadtrip to Cornwall planned which I’m very excited for! At the end of the month I have a couple more friends visiting from Australia. We have some fun touristy stuff planned in London including an afternoon tea at Claridges and hopefully a visit to the Sky Garden.
I hope you had a great May! Do you have any exciting plans for June?
