September Re-Cap: Going home to Sydney

What’s been happening this month?

Early in September London hosted a series of events to mark 350 years since the Great Fire of London. I went to see the fire projections on the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral…

As well as the burning of a wooden interpretation of the London landscape during the Great Fire which took place on the Thames. So many people turned out to watch this so I barely got a glimpse of the fire. It was pretty much a case of holding my camera over my head, pressing the shutter button and hoping for the best.

Later on in the month I took a trip back to Sydney where I took the opportunity to tick a few places off my bucket list, starting with the Chinese Garden of Friendship…

Followed by the Harbour Bridge Pylon lookout…

My sister and I went on a little day trip to Burragorang Lookout…

And then a hike along the Jingga trail in Dharawal National Park…

I also spent a lot of time eating, including this fairy floss ice cream from Aqua S..

I’m now back in London and suffering from a horrendous cold that I picked up at work so not much has been happening. Hopefully I’ll be on the mend soon as I’m already getting bored sitting around at home.

Looking ahead to October

Next weekend I’ll be heading to Twickenham to watch the Wallabies play against Argentina. This is going to be a big tick off the bucket list for me as it will be my first time seeing the Wallabies play live and also my first time watching a match at Twickenham. Tickets were an absolute steal at Β£20, much more affordable than the Β£200 or so tickets on offer during the Rugby World Cup last year.

I submitted my passport renewal application a few days ago which means no overseas travel for me until I get my new passport. It’s due to arrive mid-late October so I’ve not planned any travel for this month. I will probably use this opportunity to visit places in England before everything starts closing down for the winter!

I hope you had a great September! Where is October taking you?
